Celebrating over 200 years of invention
In 1824 the electromagnet was invented.
It was improved and shown publicly in 1825.
Its invention led to our modern “Electric” society.
We’d like to encourage people to build an electromagnet, in any year, and complete the challenge for many reasons.
Celebrate with us this technological marvel while learning some cool STEM stuff.
3 Steps To Complete The Build Challenge:
1. BUILD
The building starts by learning some STEM basics related to electromagnets and then you will build an electromagnet by hand.
Take your first step on a STEM education journey by building an electromagnet today. Discover the FUNdamentals of electromagnetism and harness the power of an invisible force you control. Begin building a visible force for your future with a STEM education. These are just a few of the many reasons to complete the electromagnet build challenge.
2. RECORD
Record your build by signing up and join the Builders List by completing the challenge. Record a video to share with other students online.
There are two ways we would like you to "Record" your build with us. First, complete the sign-up form, and you can trust we will only send you important information. Then, make a recording of your working electromagnet to share on social media. After completing the electromagnet build challenge, you'll be added to the Builders List and receive a certificate of participation.
3. SHARE
Share your build experience with a community of other STEM learners, builders, and students. Start networking with people today!
The SHARE IT page will provide steps for sharing your build on social media. We ask that you upload a picture and video of your working electromagnet. Share your unique build experience with other students, make friends, and have fun discussing STEM. Building the electromagnet is just the start of an electrifying journey of discovery that awaits you.
